I loved when The Buffy clan saved the day through words and love. Sometimes a person just needs to be talked to and not beat up all the time.
Personally I love spike, but angel is amazing to. Two very different vampires. I think they are each special in different ways. I think with angel, it was her first. And he taught her how. And about self sacrifice. But with spike, I feel we find out with buffy and spike, what it means to love. To need someone. To be connected. Cause even if you argue that buffy never lived spike, you cannot argue they weren’t connected in a deep level. How different would people feel about there relationship if the attempted rake hadn’t taken place? Buffy was horrible to spike, and him equally back. But was Angela’s relationship with Buffy any better. No!!! He tried to murder all her friends and start an apocalypse. Spike did something angel can do, love Buffy without a soul. I feel people dismiss that. Especially the angel fandom. People always try to throw the attempted rape into dlspuffy shippers, forgetting that at time spike had no soul. Is that an excuse? No wrong is wrong. But angel needs to be held to the same standards, and held accounted for his actions when he didn’t have soul. He tortured Giles, he killed Jenny, and he was a complete dick. But anyway, buffy shouldn’t be with either of them, the show should end with her single or leaving to a higher plane of existence.I do not understand Spuffy fans at all when they say Spike is better than Angel because he got to stay in the show and fell in love with Buffy and became the ‘hero’ at the end by dying. Does everybody just forget that Angel lived and got his own show? And saved ten times more people than Spike ever did? Technically he saved the world, but whatever. The world wouldn’t have needed saving by him if Buffy had just killed him earlier, and Angel saved the world numerous times in ATS. Fandoms…

Based on that example, I would have to disagree. What Xander was wrong but telling her the truth would have been worst if willow had not succeeded in restoring his soul. What could be explored is if Xander had told her then Buffy could have had a greater focus on him and stopped angel from bringing the apocalypse without killing him. But obviously for writing purposes the stakes had to be higher than that. I think a lot if fandom dismiss Xander’s character. Xander has lost nearly much as Buffy. The first major character killed off on the show was Jesse, his childhood friend who he had to kill. Xander didn’t just hate angel or spike for that matter, he hated all vampires. That’s why it’s to crazy that he dated Anya, an ex vengeance demon who killed for scorned women. Xander could have walked away at anytime. And unlike the heroine of the story, Xander choose this life. Further more, Xander’s character is consistent. He can’t commit because of his parents. Sometimes I feel like Xander couldn’t marry Anya cause he was afraid he would destroy her, but that’s a whole novel in itself. And at that point in his life Xander was not near the man he would become by season 7. He got his eye ripped out and still was willing to protect dawn for Buffy. It was selfless love that saved willow from destroying herself and the rest of the world. Selfish, perhaps sometimes. Selfless? Always. Give a chance I will defend every character on this show and angel.Xander was such a selfish person on the show. Yes he could be selfless, but he more often than not put himself before others. The worst occasion was telling Buffy that Willow told her to ’ kick Angel’s ass’. Something like that could’ve torn apart Buffy and Willow’s friendship. But Xander didn’t care just as long as he got his way.
I never forgave Sarah for her refusal to return as a guest-star in the final series of Angel. I feel like they would’ve had so much fun with it, and done it well. It was so obvious that they used a random blonde and that they used old Buffy soundbites.
I have defend smg!!! she was suppose to be in the episode your welcome but was unable to due to scheduling complications. she then agreed to be in the series finale but they denied her cause they wanted the focus of the story to be about Angel and its end. Bringing Buffy back would open up a lot of things that cant be resolved in just one episode.
